She turns her back to the sea since 1861, the year of its construction, for protection from violent winds during storms, frequent at this place. This tiny dwelling was erected at a time when the building permit did not exist, where everyone could build at will and give free rein to his imagination. It was necessary also to have an immoderate love for the sea and its whims to live in such a place, especially in winter. Its builder was of that caliber here and will live many years, digging his hands almost entirely of the moor to arrange two ponds there. His heirs will occupy only occasionally, the weather is nice. It will be a second home for decades, appearing sometimes abandoned because open only once every two or three years since the late 20th century. The current occupant, indeed, granddaughter of the first master of the house Tréguier leave where she was born, to go make his fortune in America. After selling his business, she returned to settle here in 2004. Son bâtisseur était de cette trempe et vivra ici de nombreuses années, creusant presqu'entièrement de ses mains la lande pour y aménager deux étangs. Ses héritiers ne l'occuperont qu'épisodiquement, les jours de beau temps. Elle sera une résidence secondaire pendant plusieurs décennies, paraissant même parfois abandonnée car ouverte seulement une fois tous les deux ou trois ans depuis la fin du 20ème siècle. L'occupante actuelle, en effet, petite-fille du premier maître des lieux quittera Tréguier où elle était née, pour aller faire fortune en Amérique. Après avoir cédé son affaire, elle revint s'installer ici en 2004. Entretemps, les édiles locaux, soucieux de développer la vague déferlante du tourisme côtier, se seront emparés de l'image de Castel Meur pour en faire l'emblème de la Pointe de Plougrescant ... Elle fera le tour du monde, générant un engouement tel qu'elle n'était plus considérée par le visiteur de passage comme une propriété privée mais comme un site ouvert à toutes les curiosités. La désinvolture ira à son comble un beau jour d'été où un autocar de touristes japonais aura la mauvaise idée de s'arrêter là : ses passagers voulant à tout prix un souvenir original iront jusqu'à grimper sur le toit de la maisonnette afin de s'y faire photographier !
